At Bannerman’s, our NHS Pharmacy First service covers a variety of non-serious health conditions, including but not limited to coughs, colds, and sore throats, skin irritations and rashes, hay fever and allergies, minor infections, and digestive issues such as indigestions or constipation. If you are unsure about whether we can help you or not, please contact us or visit your local Bannerman’s branch.
Yes, in some cases our specifically trained prescribing pharmacists will be able to prescribe and dispense certain prescription-only medications.
Anyone who is registered with a GP in Scotland can use the NHS Pharmacy First service. It is available to people of all ages, and in most cases, the service is free. If we believe the treatment needed will not be covered by the NHS, we will let you know.
No, you are not required to make an appointment to use the NHS Pharmacy First service. All our branches welcome walk ins at any time during our operating hours. However, if you feel you need to make an appointment, you are able to do so by contacting us or visit your local branch.
If your symptoms persist following treatment by our pharmacists, we will refer you to your GP or another healthcare professional such as a dentist or physio for further evaluation
